Archaeology Awareness Month

Signing of the Governor's Proclamation
Celebrated annually in September, Wyoming Archaeology Awareness Month 2009 is sponsored by the Wyoming State Historic Preservation Office, University of Wyoming Department of Anthropology, Office of the Wyoming State Archaeologist, U.S. Bureau of Land Management, Wyoming Army National Guard, Current Archaeological Research Inc., SWCA Environmental Consultants, U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, Western Area Power Administration, Western Land Services Inc., ASM affiliates, ENTRIX Inc., engineering-environmental Management Inc., TRC Environmental Corporation, Western Archaeological Services, Kyak Marook Heritage Research, National Park Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyoming Department of Transportation, Wyoming Association of Professional Archaeologists, Wyoming Archaeological Society.

The 2009 poster is now available. The 2007, 2008 and 2009 Wyoming Archaeology Awareness Month posters are available free of charge and may be picked up at the State Historic Preservation Office in Cheyenne, 3rd floor Barrett Building, 2301 Central Ave. or in Laramie, at the Anthropology Building at 12th and Lewis, Room 312. Limit one poster per person. If you would like a poster mailed to you, a $10.00 charge is necessary to cover mailing costs. Please add $2.00 for each additional poster requested. For example, if you wish to receive the 2008 and 2009 posters, the mailing charge is $12.00. Send your request along with a check or money order payable to "Wyoming Archaeology Month" and your name and mailing address to: Judy Wolf, State Historic Preservation Office, Dept. 3431, 1000 E. University Ave., Laramie, WY 82071.
