Born October 17, 1952 to a Welsh woman and a U.S. Air Force sergeant, Collier refers to himself as a “service brat”. Military life forced his mother to haul the family––Richard, his brother, and two sisters–– from one military base to another, mainly in the South. Actually, although his dad was sedentary by nature Richard has always loved travel. At the age of eighteen, undaunted by the prospect of constantly changing scenery, Collier joined the Air Force. The photographs you see in this display are indicative of his peripatetic life.
